Streaming and videos
May I stream or upload gameplay videos?
Individuals and companies are welcome to stream gameplay or upload gameplay videos to YouTube and similar services.
Please do not use the game for unlawful, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate content.
The Resources & Downloads page provides logos and other assets you may use in stream thumbnails and overlays.
May I monetize streams and videos on YouTube?
Yes, you may monetize gameplay streams and videos.
I have never played a train-driving game and am terrible at it. Is it still okay to stream?
Absolutely. No problem!
May I upload videos of glitches and exploits?
We do not specifically prohibit this, including monetization. However, deliberately using bugs to make trains run out of control may draw criticism from viewers. Please use your own judgment and take responsibility for your content.
May I create fan works?
Yes, if you clearly identify the work as a fan creation. It may not be used for content contrary to public order or morals, content concerning criminal activity, or political advocacy.
Is there anything else I should keep in mind?
If you use custom audio, such as boarding announcements, pay attention to copyright and related rights. If there are rights issues, select a railway sound setting that uses the built-in audio before streaming.
I know almost nothing about driving trains. Where should I start?
1. Start with the introductory driving tutorial in the driver mode's training/practice section.
The tutorial contains a lot of information. Do not worry about understanding everything at once; focus on the general flow.
2. Pick a service and try driving it.
It is a game, so mistakes are fine. There will be plenty you cannot do yet or do not understand. That is normal at first, so keep trying.
3. If you wonder what a sign means or how to read signals, open the in-game training reference from the main menu.
4. Try conductor duties.
Conductor duties require frequent camera changes, which use the numeric keypad by default. If your PC has no numeric keypad, open the key-binding configuration in the controller/input settings and rebind the camera-view actions, such as moving the view to the left.
There is not yet a conductor tutorial. Follow the guidance displayed at the bottom of the screen while playing.
The following two actions are not currently covered by that guidance:
• Upcoming-stop buzzer: about 600m before a station where you will stop, press the buzzer twice (B by default) to confirm the upcoming stop with the driver.
• Boarding announcement: before closing the doors, press the boarding-announcement button (End by default) to play the doors-closing warning.
Other
Why is the railway fictional?
For the developer's own practical reasons, and because the developer enjoys creating fictional railways.
How are Acty and Mizotsuki Rail related?
Mizotsuki Rail is the developer's online name. Acty is the trading name used for the developer's sole-proprietor business. Acty has no employees, so they are effectively the same person.
Why do updates take so long?
As a solo project, development inevitably moves more slowly than at a company.
The developer also has other work, and progress can be affected by health and other circumstances.
Thank you for your patience during the waits. I intend to keep developing the game steadily.
